Dublin murder trial jury sworn in

A jury has been sworn for the trial of a Dublin man accused of murder eight years ago.

A jury has been sworn for the trial of a Dublin man accused of murder eight years ago.

Brian Rattigan (28) of Cooley Road, Drimnagh is accused of murdering Declan Gavin (21) of Mourne Road, Drimnagh on August 25th, 2001 at Crumlin Road, Crumlin.

He has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court.

The court heard that there will be about 180 witnesses from the Crumlin, Drimnagh, Ballyfermot and Clondalkin areas.

The trial, which will start on Wednesday morning, is expected to last between five and six weeks.
