A Dublin man whose wife died of acid burns last summer has been charged with murder.

A Dublin man whose wife died of acid burns last summer has been charged with murder.

Mr Michael McKinney (59) was charged yesterday with murdering his wife, Maura, at their home in Rathvilly Park, Finglas, on August 5th-6th, 1996. Det Insp Derek Byrne told Dublin District Court the defendant was arrested in his home at 9.20 a.m. and had nothing to say in answer to the charge.

Mr McKinney was remanded in custody until tomorrow week.
