The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan at around 11pm.

The hotel was full at the time and a number of different receptions were being held. Guests and staff were immediately evacuated and  while the damage to the building has been extensive, nobody was injured in the fire.
