New on-street maps funded through the dublinbikes rental scheme are being located around Dublin city centre by the city council.

The maps, which provide directions to find the nearest Luas or dublinbikes stop, gallery, museum, train station or park, use a “heads up” format, where the map resembles the surrounding streetscape rather than the traditional north/south map.

The maps are set into backlit panels, similar to the advertising panels which were placed around the city two years ago.

They are located in the main tourism and transport areas including Temple Bar, O’Connell Street, Heuston and Connolly Stations.
