Dublin Gardaí are investigating two shooting incidents in the city this evening.
Gardaí in Store Street are investigating an incident in which a 23 year-old man was shot in the ankle. The man was approached on Buckingham Street by two men at around 6 p.m this evening. After he was shot his attackers escaped on a motorcycle.
The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Meanwhile, Gardaí at Raheny are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a security van at a bank on the Howth Road this afternoon.
A gunman discharged a shot after threatening the security staff, but then fled the scene.
No injuries were sustained and no money taken.
