A commemoration of the Famine has begun in Dublin

A commemoration of the Famine has begun in Dublin. An exhibition entitled Beef Steaks and Oyster Sauce as Usual Aspects of the Great Famine, which can be seen in the ILAC Centre until the end of the month, was opened yesterday by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Brendan Lynch.

The events, which have been organised by the Dublin Heritage Group, include publication "of a Famine newspaper and a series of daily lectures in the Central Library in the ILAC Centre.
