Minister for Health Mary Harney will open a day-service centre for adults with intellectual difficulties at Peamount Hospital in Co Dublin, this morning.

The €2.2 million centre will provide educational, vocational, social and leisure activities for all age groups, including a retirement programme for older persons with an intellectual disability.

It is expected that the centre will provide services for 147 residents and clients.
