An apartment complex in Adamstown, west Dublin, was evacuated early this morning when a fire broke out in an apartment in Castlegate Grove.

The fire at the complex started about 5.30am, and three fire brigade units attended.

A spokeswoman for the fire brigade said a person who was in the apartment that caught fire was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown suffering from smoke inhalation.
