Drugs worth €800,000 in Finglas

Three men in their 20s were arrested yesterday afternoon after gardai found drugs during the search of a car.

Three men in their 20s were arrested yesterday afternoon after gardai found drugs during the search of a car.

Some 120kgs of cannabis resin with an estimated value of €800,000 was found after the vehicle was stopped and searched in the Finglas area.

The operation was carried out by the Garda Organised Crime Unit and the Garda National Drugs Unit with the help of local Garda units from the Dublin Metropolitan Region

The three men were questioned under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. Later, a fourth man in his mid 30s was arrested in Co Meath and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Two of the men are being detained in Blanchardstown Garda Station, one in Finglas and one in Cabra.
