Drugs worth €250,000 seized at Cork Airport

Customs officers have seized three kilograms of a substance believed to be cocaine at Cork Airport today.

Customs officers have seized three kilograms of a substance believed to be cocaine at Cork Airport today.

The seizure was made following a positive indication by a drug detector dog.

A passenger who had arrived on a flight from Amsterdam to Cork was searched and the drugs were found in his luggage.

A Nigerian man, who is resident in Ireland, was subsequently arrested and is being held at Togher Garda Station. According to the Customs Service the drugs have a street value of €250,000.
