Drugs worth €1.5m seized in Dundalk

Drugs with a street value of almost €1

Drugs with a street value of almost €1.5 million were seized yesterday afternoon when gardaí stopped a van in Dundalk, Co Louth.

A man in his 30s was arrested and is being detained at Dundalk Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí discovered 240 kilos of cannabis resin in the van when it was stopped at Martin’s Cross.

They said the drugs had an approximate street value of €1.44 million.
