Drugs seized in Dublin and Louth

Gardaí have seized drugs worth €252,000 after a car was stopped and searched in Dublin yesterday evening.

Gardaí have seized drugs worth €252,000 after a car was stopped and searched in Dublin yesterday evening.

Herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €180,000 was found when a car was stopped on the Naas Road near Rathcoole. A man in his late 30s was arrested and taken to Clondalkin Garda Station for questioning.

In a follow up search in Drogheda, Co Louth, more of the drug, with an estimated street value of €72,000, was discovered.

The man is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Monday morning.
