Sentencing was adjourned in the case of a man described as a "trusted drugs courier" for major drug-dealers in Cork. Craig Philips (18), from Upper John Street, pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to possession of cannabis for supply. The court heard that cannabis with a street value of £50,000 was found on him, and later a further £100,000 worth of the drug was discovered in a house in the Glen area.

Judge Patrick Moran said he was prepared to allow the defendant to continue with the counselling and treatment he was receiving.
