Drugs case man gets nine months

A man who admitted having the amphetamine known as speed for sale was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment by Drogheda District Court yesterday. The court heard that Anthony Shields, Ballsgrove, was on bail when arrested by Garda Brian Morrissey in McPhail's public house, Drogheda, on January 4th last. In a statement, he said he intended selling the drug to buy drugs for himself. Garda Morrissey said there were 10 packets of the drug, which were being sold for £12 each.
