The Government has allocated £1 million for spending on local anti-drug initiatives in two parts of Dublin

The Government has allocated £1 million for spending on local anti-drug initiatives in two parts of Dublin. The money is being divided between the local drug "task forces" in Finglas/Cabra and Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown. The task forces are made up of community leaders who have submitted plans for youth diversion projects and similar schemes to Government.Mr Chris Flood, Minister of State at the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation, said the plans of 11 such task forces are now being funded for others should be approved shortly.
