Drogheda woman found injured on roadside dies

A woman found with serious injuries on a road last week on the outskirts of Drogheda died today.

A woman found with serious injuries on a road last week on the outskirts of Drogheda died today.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

The woman, from Drogheda, was initially believed to have been the victim of a hit-and-run collision when she was found on Friday July 28th.

She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but was later moved to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

She never regained consciousness and died this morning. Gardai are continuing their investigations.
