ISLAMABAD - The northern Afghan militia leader Gen Abdul Rashid Dostum has lost control of at least one province to mutineers supporting the Islamic Taleban militia yesterday, a Pakistan based news service has said.

The Afghan Islamic Press said dissident Gen Abdul Malik had launched a proTaleban revolt against his former leader in four provinces - Faryab, Samangan, Jowzjan and Balkh. It was not immediately clear what had happened to Gen Dostum.
