Mary Lafferty (54), of Riverside, Cockhill, Buncrana, was found guilty of arson with intent to defraud at Letterkenny Circuit Court. The jury found Lafferty guilty of setting fire to a terraced house owned by her and her husband, John, at Slieve Seacht Close, Letterkenny, Co Donegal, on December 18th 1994, to obtain money from the insurance company, General Accident Fire and Life PLC.
