The Department of the Marine has been directed "to advance a number of initiatives in all aspects of the marine sector in Donegal to maximise economic activity and job creation for the county".
Announcing the allocation of £1.1 million in grant aid for port development in the north of the county the Minister for the Marine, Dr Woods, said he was determined to increase the contribution the marine sector made to employment in Donegal and he was working closely with the Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney, on the matter.
