A Central Criminal Court jury took just one hour to find a Garda sergeant not guilty of raping a woman in a Co Donegal Garda station.

The jury's decision came on the 13th day of the hearing before Mr Justice Abbott.

He discharged the 55-year-old accused who had denied raping and sexually assaulting the woman, now 25, in their local Garda station on June 21st, 2000.
