The deputy grand master of the Orange Order, Mr Jeffrey Donaldson, is being tipped to succeed the former Ulster Unionist Party leader, Sir James Molyneaux, as his party's candidate for Lagan Valley in the next Westminster election.
Mr Donaldson has confirmed he is considering putting his name forward for selection. Sir James said on Wednesday he would not be contesting next year's election.
