Actor Dom DeLuise has died at age 75, it has been reported.
DeLuise, the portly and popular comic actor who starred in movies such as Blazing Saddles, has died in a Los Angeles hospital, TV show Entertainment Tonightsaid.
The American, who co-starred alongside Burt Reynolds in movies such as Smokey and the Bandit IIand The Cannonball Run,died in his sleep on Monday.
ETsaid it confirmed the death through a family member. DeLuise's agent was unavailable for comment.
"Dom always made everyone feel better when he was around. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. I will miss him very much," Reynolds told ET.
As an actor, he was incredibly prolific, appearing in scores of movies and TV shows, in Broadway plays and voicing characters for numerous cartoon shows.
DeLuise also carved out a formidable second career later in life as a chef of fine cuisine. He authored two cookbooks and would appear often on morning TV shows to whip up his favourite recipes.
