Carlisle - A British family doctor has been suspended pending a probe into the suspicious deaths of five of his patients, apparently from overdoses of the heroin substitute methadone, police said yesterday. The unnamed 50-year-old doctor from Carlisle was arrested after the methadone-linked deaths of male drug users beginning in January 1999.
