A dispute over the ownership of a racehorse, worth an estimated €400,000, has come before the High Court.

Michael O’Reilly, his brother Martin O’Reilly and Martin’s partner Claudia Reiss claim they own a 20 per cent stake in the racehorse, Tashzara, whose brother Excelebration is one of the fastest horses in the world.

In proceedings against building contractor Edward Logan jnr and his wife Edel, they are seeking an injunction preventing the horse being offered for sale at Goffs or Tattersalls, England.

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan yesterday allowed the plaintiffs to serve short notice of their proceedings and returned the matter to today.
