Athens - The Greek defence ministry yesterday blamed a Turkish patrol boat for a collision in the Aegean Sea between a Greek and a Turkish vessel. Turkey for its part has accused a Greek warship of responsibility for the incident on Wednesday evening.

The Greek defence ministry, denying Ankara's version of events, said a Turkish patrol boat on Wednesday morning rammed a Greek minesweeper and that the foreign ministry had lodged a protest with Ankara. The incident occurred in international waters off the island of Lesbos in the eastern Aegean, the ministry said.
