Frank Shortt has expressed his disappointment at the award he has been granted by the High Court, following his wrongful conviction for allowing drugs to be sold on his premises in 1995. His solicitor, Katherine Ward, said he and his legal team were now considering all options, including that of an appeal.
In a brief statement read out by Ms Ward after the High Court ruling, Mr Shortt said that Mr Justice Joseph Finnegan had detailed the trauma and damage he has suffered. He was still trying to come to terms with what had happened to him as a result of the miscarriage of justice.
"Sally [ his wife] and I are very disappointed in the light of all that has happened with the level of award," he said, adding that they were considering an appeal.
Mr Shortt refused to add anything to the statement read out by his solicitor.
