A director of a company that formerly provided security staff to a number of Dublin premises has been jailed for two years for tax evasion by Judge Patricia Ryan.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard the VAT and PAYE/PRSI liability total was just short of €327,000.

Gerard Dunne (48), of Steeplechase Wood, Skryne Road, Ratoath, Co Meath, pleaded guilty in both a personal capacity and on behalf of PR Security Limited, Stephen’s Place, Dublin 2, to six representative counts on the indictment.

These counts relate to filing incorrect VAT returns and incorrect P35 (PAYE/PRSI) returns on dates between 2000 and 2003, and to failing to keep records of all transactions relating to PAYE on November 16th, 2005.
