OSLO - A diamond had been found in Norway for the first time, a geologist announced yesterday. It was found in Finnmark, the country's most northerly province.

"It is a sensation," said Mr Morten Often, of the Geological Survey of Norway, who analysed the discovery. The 0.07- carat gem had a typical diamond form and a fine crystal shape.
