Brewing giant Diageo today maintained its full-year guidance for 9 per cent organic operating profit growth after trading in the third-quarter continued in line with the first half.

In the nine-month period ended March 31st, Diageo's organic net sales growth was 7 per cent, in line with performance seen in the first half.

The company said that there has been no material change in the financial position of the group but that the payment of dividends and continued share buyback programme reduced net assets to £3.9 billion at March 31st from £4.2 billion at June 30th, 2007.
