Gardaí in Waterford are investigating an incident in which a suspect device was thrown into a halting site last night.
The device was thrown into the Bilberry halting site in Waterford city shortly before midnight last night.
An Army bomb disposal team attended the scene this morning. According to a Defence Forces spokesman, a "very crude, homemade" device was found to have detonated.
The area was declared safe at 8.40am.
