An explosive device was found in the front garden of a house in Ballymun in Dublin today.

An explosive device was found in the front garden of a house in Ballymun in Dublin today.

The device was described as “viable” by gardai but it had failed to explode.

Army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene at Cranog Close by gardai at shortly before 9am and the area was declared safe at about midday.

The device was made safe at the scene and taken away for further examination.
