Device explodes at Dublin house

A suspect device, believed to be pipe bomb, exploded after it was thrown into a house in south Dublin earlier this morning.

A suspect device, believed to be pipe bomb, exploded after it was thrown into a house in south Dublin earlier this morning.

The incident occurred at a house in Whitechurch Place, Ballyboden, shortly before 7.30am.

No one was injured but gardaí have sealed-off the house for a technical examination of the scene.

An Army bomb disposal team also attended the scene.
