Jerusalem - The world's most famous stain was crying out for the right detergent to come along with the right advertising campaign. In Israel, a household soap-powder now claims to have the answer to Monica Lewinsky's laundry problems, Julian Borger reports.

Television advertisements, demonstrating how "Biomat" detergent might have rid Ms Lewinsky's blue cocktail dress of its alleged presidential DNA deposit, will be shown in Israel today to coincide with President Clinton's testimony. According to the Tel Aviv advertising agency, Weinberg, Carasso and Shamir, the ad will portray a desperate secret service attempt to zap the stain.
