A Co Derry teenager who blew a gas flame into the face of a 12-year-old boy, was sentenced to two months' detention at a young offenders' centre yesterday. Magherafelt Magistrates Court was told that Alistair Miskelly (19) from Beechland Road, Magherafelt, had taken lighter fuel into his mouth before blowing it over a lighted flame at the boy, who was standing in front of him.

It was stated that since the incident, which occurred on October 4th last year, the boy had made a full recovery.
