Detached trailer kills woman

A woman in her 60s died yesterday after a road accident at Bridge Street in Waterford. Ms Eileen Carroll (68), was walking on the footpath shortly before I p.m. when she was knocked down by a trailer full of carpets that had detached from a van. The trailer came loose as the vehicle was being driven up a steep incline.
