Two Derry men accused of behaving recklessly on an aircraft walked free from a British court today.

Mr John Harkin (32), and Mr Seamus McDermott (31), were arrested following an alleged disturbance on an easyJet flight from Belfast to Liverpool on May 7th. They were accused of assaulting an air hostess.

They appeared before Liverpool Magistrates today for the case to be committed to Crown Court.

Crown Prosecutors did not have the correct paperwork and asked for a two-week adjournment, but magistrates chose to discharge the case.

The men were told they could be called back to court at a future date if the Crown Prosecution Service applied to re-open the case.
