POLICE in Derry have issued an appeal for information about a 36 year old man who was abducted from his home in the city yesterday morning. Detectives believe the man was abducted by paramilitaries.
A masked gang smashed down the door of the man's ground floor flat. They put a hood over his head and tied his hands before bundling him out of the building. "We are very concerned for this man's safety", an RUC detective said. "We are not aware of any motive for his abduction and we believe it may have been the work of a paramilitary gang."
