Derry boy (6) knocked down by stolen car

A six-year-old boy has been treated in hospital for a head wound after being  knocked down by a stolen car  in Derry city.

A six-year-old boy has been treated in hospital for a head wound after being  knocked down by a stolen car  in Derry city.

The boy was hit by the car at Ederowen Park shortly after 6.00 p.m. yesterday.

The driver abandoned the car and was seen running away from the crash scene.

The car had was stolen from outside a house on the Creggan Road earlier in the day.

The PSNI have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
