Moscow - Russia's Communists said yesterday they had delayed their parliamentary bid to impeach President Boris Yeltsin and the president's spokesman, Mr Sergei Yastrzhembsky, dismissed their plans as "games and firecrackers".

The Communists had originally planned to start the impeachment process today. In fact, it is all but impossible to impeach Mr Yeltsin and previous attempts have made little progress.
