Gardai yesterday confirmed that they were following a definite line of inquiry into an incident in Cork city in which two masked men beat up a young woman, put a knife to her throat and tried to cut off one of her fingers.
Ms Yvonne Hayes (23) suffered cuts to her neck and finger during the aggravated burglary, which happened at her home at Hollyhill, Cork at about 2 a.m. on Thursday.
