A community straddling the Cork-Kerry border has, through its celebrations of local culture and traditions, produced a template that could be used in preparation for The Gathering 2013, according to a Minister.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan said integrated rural development company IRD Duhallow had shown how communities could organise events for The Gathering.

Mr Deenihan was speaking at the launch of IRD Duhallow’s programme, which entails staging 70 cultural, sporting and educational events in 21 communities next week.
