The Cabinet has formalised the appointment of an adviser to Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan.

James Kenny, a retired school teacher from Kerry, will earn €38,215. His salary has been abated to this level as he already receives a public service pension. Mr Deenihan appointed Mr Kenny last June and the appointment was “signed off” by Cabinet yesterday.

Former journalist Seán Mac Cárthaigh is also working as an adviser to Mr Deenihan.
