New Delhi - The Indian government has virtually given up hope of finding more survivors from a landslide which buried 201 people, as 26 more died in another landslide in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh yesterday.

A spokesman also announced the cancellation of pilgrimages to the sacred Hindu mountains of Mansarovar in Tibet. Tuesday's landslide wiped away the village of Malpa, through which Hindus trek to Mansarovar, 35km away.
