Death sentence commuted

Brownsville - The governor of Texas, Mr George W. Bush, in an unprecedented move, said yesterday he had decided to spare the life of a convicted multiple murderer once regarded as one of the US's most prolific serial killers.Mr Bush announced his decision to commute the death sentence against Henry Lee Lucas to life imprisonment after a meeting of US and Mexican state governors from the border region.
