The journalist Ms Mary Norton, also known as Monica Carr, has died. During a long career she chronicled rural life in the Nationalist & Leinster Times and in the Leinster Leader. She also wrote for the Irish Independent.
She became known to a national radio audience as Monica Carr on sponsored programmes on RTE radio.
She died in Peamount Hospital, Co Dublin, yesterday after a long illness.
