The death has taken place of Mrs Elgin O Rahilly, Palmers town, Dublin, sister and last surviving relative of Kevin Barry, who was hanged in 1920 aged 18. She was 92.
She took the Republican side during the Civil War and was imprisoned in 1923 aged 18. Wife of the late Mac O Rahilly, she is survived by Michael, Ann, Ruth (Sweetman) and Celie. The funeral will take place today to Esker Cemetery, Lucan, after 11 o'clock Mass in the Church of St Philomena, Palmerstown.
