A Co Kilkenny boy has died seven days after being accidentally struck by a golf ball

A Co Kilkenny boy has died seven days after being accidentally struck by a golf ball. Declan Fennelly (13), of Old town, Stoneyford, had been on a life-support machine after emergency brain surgery in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, but on Tuesday the machine was switched off. The boy's parents, Mr Liam Fennelly andMs Maureen Fennelly, agreed that their only son's organs should go to children awaiting transplants.The boy was struck on the head by a golf ball while playing at the Mountain View course, Ballyhale, a few miles from his home on Tuesday of last week. He will be buried in Stoneyford Cemetery today.
