TALKS aimed at resolving the long running nurses' dispute begin today, with a deadline of March 22nd for conclusion.

This follows last week's decision by 26,000 nurses to reject, the Government's £20 million package by a 99 per cent majority. A planned ballot on industrial action was deferred when the Nurses' Alliance (group of unions) agreed to the request of the chief executive of the Labour Relations' Commission, Mr Kieran Mulvey, to allow negotiations to resume.
