The Special Criminal Court yesterday fixed January 13th next as the date for trial of a Dublin man accused of the murder of journalist Veronica Guerin. Mr Paul Ward (32), of Windmill Park, Crumlin, is charged with the murder of Ms Guerin on the Naas road, Clondalkin, Dublin, on June 26th, 1996.
His solicitor, Mr Michael Farrell, told the court they would be applying to the High Court for a judicial review of the case. Mr Justice Barr remanded Mr Ward in continuing custody.
