There have been many spin-offs and imitations of Riverdance since its triumphant debut in the Point Theatre in February 1995, after it had evolved from the interval entertainment in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. Three companies of Riverdance have been performing all over the world since then, during which time the show has been constantly developing. It was improved considerably for its first US visit, and Ireland saw the results at the Point in a second season which followed. Now Moya Doherty and John McColgan of Abhann Productions are bringing the show back to the Point for its third appearance under the title of Riverdance - the Homecoming. Can it pack out the theatre for weeks yet again? With Bill Whelan's wonderful music and a talented cast, I would not be surprised if it did.
